Loving Others
SERVING OUR COMMUNITY
At Church of the Savior, we believe in starting where we live, serving and giving in ways that enhance the lives of people in our city and county.
REFUGEES & IMMIGRANTS
We love and welcome refugees and immigrants, so we are grateful to be able to support World Relief DuPage/Aurora, a proven leader in resettlement, training, and support. For example, in 2017, Savior members donated money to help new immigrants attend driver's-education classes--essential for thriving in their new country.
HOMELESS YOUNG MOMS
To help single, formerly homeless young mothers, we support Jubilee Village, a transitional living and supportive housing program, led by our friends at Outreach Community Ministries.
PEOPLE LIVING ON THE EDGE
Peoples Resource Center offers food, clothing, emergency financial assistance, job assistance, computers and computer training, art programs, literacy classes and other programs to aid people in need in DuPage County.
Churches United for Hardship Assistance (CUHA) assists individuals and families who visit churches for help, by providing a trained caseworker from Outreach Community Ministries.
SERVING OUR WORLD
Since "God so loved the world," our compassion extends to all people.
MALNOURISHED CHILDREN THROUGHOUT THE WORLD
Each year, Savior members & attenders hand-pack meals specially formulated for malnourished children, with Feed My Starving Children
CHILDREN IN POVERTY IN KENYA
We support ECHO (Educate Children for Hope and Opportunity), a ministry connected to Nairobi Chapel in Kenya. ECHO provides education and holistic services to children, seeking to move young people out of poverty and create hope and opportunity for them.
IMMIGRANTS LIVING IN FRANCE
Many people from the Middle East and Africa have come to France seeking jobs, safety, and a new life. Many are from countries where Christian witness is suppressed. We support Collin and Kim Sanford with Greater Europe Mission in serving these immigrants.
COLLEGE & UNIVERSITY STUDENTS
Longtime Savior members Doug and Marilyn Stewart served for fifty years with InterVarsity Christian Fellowship and its global umbrella, International Fellowship of Evangelical Students. The Stewarts disciple current and former leaders in those movements.
