Christians around the world have traditionally celebrated the day before Ash Wednesday by eating all the rich foods – like sugar and dairy – they would be giving up for the fast of Lent. Savior is joining that tradition by hosting a Shrove Tuesday Pancake Dinner on March 4, from 6-8pm, at PHCC. Savior will provide pancakes and beverages; we invite you to bring your favorite (nut-free) topping to share! Sign up online or at the Info Table so we know how many pancakes to flip.
Savior is hosting a short evening retreat on Thursday, December 12 from 6:00 - 9:00. Join us at 6 for a soup dinner; the retreat will begin at 6:45. This mini retreat will be an opportunity to slow down and connect with God in the midst of this often hectic season. Please register here so we can provide enough soup! Reach out to Pastor Sarah with any questions.
Join us for this wonderful Savior tradition for all ages! December 7th at PHCC after the service, and dinner will be provided. Please sign up here or in the foyer, so we know you’re coming. We will explore Celtic wisdom about themes of friendship, solitude, work, the imagination, and many others. Because the book is written for a general, not explicitly Christian, audience, consider also inviting friends who may be interested in spirituality!
Please get your copy of the book and read chapter 1 for our first meeting! Sign up at the info table or via this link; contact Heidi Truty with questions.
We invite college students to stay after the service for a pizza dinner to celebrate the beginning of the school year and to get to know some of Savior’s clergy and staff.

We will pray for students (from preschool through post-docs), for educators, and for parents. It’s Savior’s rich tradition to pause and invite the Holy Spirit into this upcoming season of “excitement and new beginnings”.

Praying for Holy Week:
• For the grace to open ourselves to God’s Spirit and receive all He has for us in this Holy Week.
• For anointing on the reading, preaching, and singing of God’s Word, that we would hear it with new ears and take it in deeply.
• For a palpable sense of our union in Christ, so that isolation would be swallowed up in Christian community.
• For creativity to live into these ancient practices in fresh ways.
• For people beyond Savior who view the services to meet God.
• For our Good Friday Gift.
This year, we’re holding the Stations ahead of Holy Week, as a Lenten devotion for all ages. Times are listed below:
Friday, March 15, 2:00-8:00PM
Saturday, March 16, 9:00AM-3:00PM
Sign up for a time here.
Mark the beginning of Lent with this solemn service of repentance and remembrance of our need for Christ. Service held at PHCC; families are welcome.
At the beginning of each year, we gather as a church to discuss and vote on our:
* proposed budget (coming after Wednesday Vestry meeting)
* proposed slate of new vestry members
* proposed changes to our bylaws (coming after Wednesday Vestry meeting)
Join us for our family conversation over Zoom. Click here to join the zoom meeting.
All may attend. This is a great chance to ask questions.
The vote will take place at the Annual Business Meeting on Saturday, Feb. 3rd. It will be held in person, at Pleasant Hill, immediately after the service, approximately 6:30–6:45pm. All may attend, but only members may vote. (And per our bylaws, no absentee voting, except by prior arrangement with the Vestry in cases of medical inability to attend.)
On January 6th, plan to stay after worship for a piece of rosca, the traditional “kings’ bread,” as we observe the kings’ worship of Jesus. We’ll have hot cocoa, too.
If you find a small figure of baby Jesus in your rosca, save it in order to bring it back on February 3rd, when we celebrate the Presentation of Jesus in the Temple.
(Need to run? Take a slice of rosca with you.)
Join us for our Christmas Eve service. We will sing favorite Christmas carols by candlelight.
No childcare will be provided, children are welcome in the service. Coloring pages will be available.
We will be meeting on December 16th at PHCC after the service.
Dinner will be provided.
We hope you all can join us for this wonderful tradition!
