March 31 - April 2, Stations of the Cross: In this self-guided, interactive journey for all ages, move through the final 14 key moments of Jesus’s life, from his betrayal to his burial. Stations will be open Wednesday, 4/1 from 5-9pm, Thursday, 4/2 from 5-7pm & 9-10pm; and Friday 4/3 from 11am-1:30pm with nursery available.
April 2, 7-8:30pm, Maundy Thursday: The word “maundy” relates to “mandate,” because on the Thursday night before he died, Jesus gave his followers a mandate: “Love each other just as much as I love you” (John 13:34). This service has three parts: an optional Footwashing, Communion, and Prayer Watch. You’re invited to remain in prayer following the service, as the disciples were invited by Jesus to pray with him.
April 3, 2-3:30pm, Good Friday: Christians call this disastrous day in Jesus’ life—an event of government-sponsored torture and public execution—“good.” In what possible way could “Good Friday” be good? Because a greater plan was at work. In the Good Friday service, we are eyewitnesses of Jesus’ suffering and death. We hear and participate again in the Passion narrative. And we take time to pray at the cross.
April 4, 5-7:30pm, Easter Vigil: In the early church, new believers would stay awake all night and at dawn, as the Easter sunrise began to light the sky, they would be baptized and put on white robes. That’s how the Easter Vigil began. We mirror their worship in a service with four distinct parts: in the candlelit Service of Light, in the retelling of God’s story of salvation in the Service of Lessons, in the joy of true repentance in Baptism for new belivers (and a renewal of vows for all), and finally in Communion, where we celebrate the victory of Life over Death.
April 5, 10am-12:30pm, Tyndale House Publishers, 351 Executive Drive, Carol Stream, Easter Brunch: Our joy continues! We will hear the Gospel account of the first Easter, sing favorite Easter songs, and set up the flowering cross. Following the service, enjoy brunch, get to know people, and thank God for all he has done among us during Holy Week.

Christians around the world have traditionally celebrated the day before Ash Wednesday by eating all the rich foods – like sugar and dairy – they would be giving up for the fast of Lent. Savior is joining that tradition by hosting a Shrove Tuesday Pancake Dinner on March 4, from 6-8pm, at PHCC. Savior will provide pancakes and beverages; we invite you to bring your favorite (nut-free) topping to share! Sign up online or at the Info Table so we know how many pancakes to flip.

This mini retreat will be an opportunity to slow down and connect with God in the midst of this often hectic season. Please register here so we can provide enough soup! Reach out to Pastor Sarah with any questions.

We will explore Celtic wisdom about themes of friendship, solitude, work, the imagination, and many others. Because the book is written for a general, not explicitly Christian, audience, consider also inviting friends who may be interested in spirituality!
Please get your copy of the book and read chapter 1 for our first meeting! Sign up at the info table or via this link; contact Heidi Truty with questions.
We invite college students to stay after the service for a pizza dinner to celebrate the beginning of the school year and to get to know some of Savior’s clergy and staff.
